The next decade 1963-1973

1968 the F. G. Woodgate show was added and the classification saw the sable class split into Marten and Siamese. Ken Beecroft became secretary.

1969 saw George Rhodes take over as President

1970 another show was added in the spring, it was held at Yarm now in the North East only a couple of miles out of our area. It had 75% prize money and an improved classification.

Phil Birch comments on dwarfs past and present in the 1990 yearbook

Les and Mary Cumberpatch's agouti Oram Laddie, was a real showman, showing his qualities as soon as he hit the show table. The next dwarf that had the same effect was Ray McIlroy's Stormtrooper. This was an excellent dwarf, a Siamese sable of excellent colour, it was small and compact with a lovely profile. In 1973 Roy Walmsly had a Siamese sable called Fitzroy, never shown until 18 months old when he went BIS at the Northern ASS. This rabbit was the best dwarf for type that I have ever handled, right up to the present day. He was beautifully balanced, bold head, short deep body and outstanding eye. Fitzroy is firmly planted in my minds eye, even now, when I handle a good dwarf I ask myself ' it as good as Fitzroy? '

There were 14 championships; 5 REWs; KM Brook's Prince Michael, Jackson Stud's Harry, J Turnbull's Wee Geordie, R Grunshaw's Jo White, Mr Jackson Brown's White Boy, and Mrs K Elliot?s Snowball. 3 Siamese Sables; Miss H Arnold?s Wrangbrook Willie, NT Webb's Herbers Crackerjack, K Beecroft's Cassius and one for A Billam which did not have a name! 3 Marten Sables; F Boyd's Essex Rambler, Miss D Brook's Prince Marten, Jackson Stud's Skippy. 2 Torts; G Hallaghan's Pennine Treasure and Pennine Typhoon, 1 Black; K Beecroft's Spades. F. Wainwright, D. Smith and W. L. Shackleton were made life members.

Membership stood at 25.

N. T. Webb became President, and there was 73%of the ballot papers returned
